THOSE TEENS CLAIM THAT THEY WERE PLAYING A GAME WHERE THEY WOULD SHOOT THEIR CLASSMATES WITH GEL BLASTERS, BUT POLICE SAY NONE OF THEIR VICTIMS WERE IN THEIR AGE GROUP. MULTIPLE RESIDENTS, INCLUDING A CHILD AS YOUNG AS TEN, HAD BEEN STRUCK BY PROJECTILES COMING FROM THE VEHICLE USING GEL BLASTERS SIMILAR TO THIS ONE. FOUR TEENAGERS ALLEGEDLY SHOT MULTIPLE ENID PARENTS AND EVEN A TEN YEAR OLD GIRL WHILE IN A MOVING CAR MONDAY NIGHT. IT KIND OF WORRIES ME SOME WITH A GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER THAT I RAISED. MULTIPLE NEIGHBORS CALLED 911, AND POLICE WERE ABLE TO FIND THE GROUP AND BOOKED THEM ON FELONY COMPLAINTS OF ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON, DISCHARGING ANY SORT OF WEAPON FROM A MOVING VEHICLE AS A FELONY. ONE GRANDMOTHER TELLS ME SHE’S OFTEN WORRIED ABOUT SAFETY. WELL, THAT’S REASON WHY THERE’S A CAMERA THAT POINTS TO MY BACKYARD WHERE SHE PLAYS AND SHE’S NOT OUT FRONT AT ALL. THE KIDS CLAIM TO BE IN A WAR WITH CLASSMATES, BUT NONE OF THE VICTIMS WENT TO THEIR SCHOOL. POLICE SAY EVEN BB GUNS WITH GEL BULLETS ARE NO LAUGHING MATTER. ANY TYPE OF BEHAVIOR LIKE THAT IS GOING TO BE UNSAFE. SOME THAT HAD BEEN SHOT WERE NOT INJURED, OTHERS HAD MARKS AND BRUISES AND WELTS. POLICE TELL ME THE FOUR TEENS WERE TAKEN TO JUVENILE DETENTION CENTERS OUTSIDE OF GARFIELD COUNTY. The teens told police they were playing a game where they would shoot gel blasters at their classmates, but police said none of the victims were their age. “Multiple residents, including a child as young as 10, had been struck by projectiles from the vehicle," Cass Rains with the Enid Police Department said. “Discharging any sort of weapon from a moving vehicle is a felony.”Multiple neighbors called 911, and police were able to find the group. They were booked on felony complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon. “It kind of worries me some with a great-granddaughter I raise," Enid resident Cindy Gaisford said.
